Positive, practical puppy training to help raise a happy, confident dog.

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but it can also be challenging. Toilet training, jumping up, lead walking, recall, socialisation and settling are just some of the things your puppy needs to learn.

At Dingley Dell Dog Training & Agility Club, I offer friendly, practical and positive puppy classes in Pirbright, Surrey, helping you and your puppy build the skills and confidence needed for everyday life.

Classes are deliberately kept small, with no more than 6 puppies, so you and your puppy receive plenty of individual help and attention.

Why Choose Dingley Dell Puppy Classes?

I believe puppy training should be fun, kind and rewarding for both you and your puppy.

I have been working with dogs since 2000 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1998. My experience has given me a thorough understanding of dogs, their behaviour and the importance of building confidence and trust from an early age.

I am an Assessed and Qualified Member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and use ethical, positive and force-free training methods.

My aim is not simply to teach your puppy commands. I want to help you understand your puppy, develop a strong relationship and give you practical skills that you can continue using at home and out in the real world.

Small, Friendly Puppy Classes

I keep my puppy classes deliberately small, with a maximum of 6 puppies per class.

This means you won't feel lost in a large group, and I can give you and your puppy individual help and guidance throughout the course.

Puppies also have the opportunity to learn around other dogs and people in a controlled and supportive environment, helping them develop appropriate social skills.

Socialisation isn't simply about allowing puppies to play with every dog they meet. I want puppies to learn how to remain calm, focused and comfortable around other dogs and people, while owners learn how to support them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age can my puppy start Stage 1?

Stage 1 is suitable for puppies up to 6 months of age.

If your puppy is very young and hasn't completed their vaccinations, a pre-vaccination home visit can help you get started at home.

How long are the puppy courses?

Both Stage 1 and Stage 2 are 6-week courses.

How many puppies are in each class?

Classes are kept small, with a maximum of 6 puppies.

What will my puppy learn?

We cover much more than basic obedience. Training includes recall, loose-lead walking, settling, food manners, handling, socialisation, enrichment, play and practical skills for everyday life.

Do you use positive training methods?

Yes. I use ethical, positive and force-free training methods, focusing on rewarding the behaviours we want and helping owners understand how their puppies learn.

Can I have training before my puppy is fully vaccinated?

Yes. Pre-vaccination one-to-one home visits are available to help you get started while your puppy is settling into their new home.

Will my puppy socialise with other dogs?

Appropriate socialisation is an important part of puppy development. Puppies learn around other dogs in a controlled and supportive environment, helping them develop good social skills without simply encouraging uncontrolled play.

What happens if my puppy is nervous?

Every puppy is different. I aim to create a supportive environment where puppies can learn at a pace that suits them, with individual guidance where needed.

What happens after Stage 1?

You can continue your puppy's training with Stage 2, where we build on the foundations learned in Stage 1 and introduce more distractions, distance and challenges.
