I'm Hannah Forrest, the owner and trainer at Dingley Dell. I have been working with dogs since 2000 and am a Certified Member and Assessed and Qualified Member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers.
My approach is based on kindness, understanding and positive training methods. Rather than simply telling your dog what not to do, I want to help you understand why your dog is behaving in a particular way and teach you practical ways to encourage the behaviour you want.

My own experience with my rescued Saluki, Bill, played an important part in shaping my approach to dog training. Bill came to me at nine months old after a difficult start in life and was very nervous and unpredictable. Also I have since rescued two more dogs and used my kind positive approach to make their lives more comfortable.
Working with them taught me a great deal about understanding dogs, building confidence and using positive methods to encourage the behaviour we want.
Today, I bring that same patient approach to the dogs and owners I work with.

You don't need to know exactly what type of training you need. Tell me what's happening, what you've tried already and what you'd like your dog to be able to do.
We'll then work together on practical exercises that are appropriate for your dog and your circumstances.
I'll explain what we're doing and give you guidance on how to continue practising between sessions.
The aim is not just to train your dog during our session — it's to give you the knowledge and confidence to continue the training between sessions.
